    Make Your Own Word Search Activity Sheet

    This is an editable pptx file, so you can change the words in the word bank according to your lesson. Students make their own word search, then swap sheets with a partner and solve each other’s word searches!

    As an EFL teacher, I think this activity is ideal for EFL elementary grade 5 and 6, but really it can be used for any EFL/ESL/ELA lesson! The current word bank uses vocabulary from the YBM textbook Grade 5, Lesson 11 “Where is the Library?” It is designed as a half sheet on A4 paper, so you’ll have to cut the pages in half.

    Birthday Bingo Activity

    This activity is specifically designed for EFL student in Korea to learn months and dates in English.

    There are 23 unique bingo sheets. Students write their own birthday in English at the top, then ask other students when their birthdays are until they can fill the a row or the entire page.

    With my class of 23 students, this activity took about 15 minutes.

    Time Bingo Activity

    I played this Time Bingo game with 4th graders for a lesson teaching about time. It’s great for teaching any lesson about telling time, so I imagine this activity can be used for any ESL/EFL/ELA lesson or even in elementary school lessons about clock math.

    There are 25 unique bingo sheets. Students must write the time in English words under each time. The teacher can call out times randomly until students get 3 in a row (to extend play time, you can require students to get 2-3 bingos to win). My class of 25 students played for about 15-20 minutes.
